Global Marine Logistics, LLC is proud to represent "OILGUARD MESH", which is a co-invention of our business partner WEAVER DE MEXICO whose owner is also an International Patent Holder. "OILGUARD MESH" is a Hydrophobic/Oleophilic material, designed to act as proactive and preventive measure against unwanted hydrocarbons spills accidents.


When coming into contact with hydrocarbons, the mesh chemically reacts exclusively absorbing them and other oil derivates in a matter of seconds.

OILGUARD MESH PROTECTION APPLICATIONS

Oilguard spill control technology provides an alternative method for the absorption and collection of hydrocarbons and tar, as a preventive measure and protection for operational risks and accidents resulting from spills of hydrocarbons in the sea, lagoons, rivers, due to unwanted, natural or operational events.

A Technological Test was carried out in 2010 in Ciudad del Carmen, Campeche, a section of 4 x 5.3 meters of Oilguard oil absorbent mesh was delivered to the Industrial Safety Management, where a mixture of different types of oil products were added.


They were collected in previous contingencies of oil spills with 14, 18 and 22° API, absorbing the hydrocarbon efficiently and obtaining satisfactory results.

In the Gulf of Mexico, a collection tray with 26 ° API oil was spilled on the deck on a collection boat. 100 x 5.3 meters of Oilguard oil absorbent mesh was deployed on the deck of the vessel.


After 1 min of exposure in the liquid emulsion, only the oil was absorbed, and the deck remained clean.

On the Akal-C Platform at the Cantarell Production Asset, 25 x 3.5 meters of absorbent fabric was used, on the deck of the platform during the operation of maintenance and stimulation work, the absorbent mesh was placed under the electromechanical cable and the coil of the electric log cabin towards the BOP, which during its operation 22° API oil was poured when it was extracted from the well.

In June 2010 after the British Petroleum (BP) spill, our technology was tested in the Gulf of Mexico under real conditions, with significant amounts of crude oil on the coast, under the supervision and support of the Public Works Directive of Orange Beach, Alabama. The mesh was deployed and its oil absorption capabilities were analyzed.
